Caring For The Deceased

Spending Time With Loved Ones

Whether Or Not It's Right For You

Whether you would like to spend time with the deceased before the funeral or not is completely up to you. Our first priority is ensuring that you feel comfortable and are able to farewell your loved one the way you choose.

For many families, this decision is informed by religious or cultural practices. But for many others, this will solely depend on how you would prefer to say goodbye and what feels right to you and your family.

Osbornes Funeral Directors offer private and comfortable viewing facilities for you and your family to say goodbye to the deceased if this is what you wish. Alternatively, it may be possible for us to arrange for their casket to be taken to your home in the days prior to the service.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to support you and make all the necessary arrangements.

Clinical Preparation & Embalming

Information About The Processes And Your Choices

Embalming and other forms of clinical preparation are optional steps in the funeral process, and the choice will differ for each person.

The function of embalming is to ensure disinfection and preservation of the body throughout the funeral period. It can also ensure a more natural appearance of the deceased. Sometimes, if the funeral is delayed, or if the body has to be transferred to another city or country, embalming is mandatory.

Our experienced, qualified Embalmers will carry out the embalming process, and at all times the body will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. All of our Embalmers are highly trained professionals, who are members of the FDANZ.

We will talk through your options to ensure that you can make an informed decision that feels right for you.

We were really pleased with the service we received from Osbornes. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly and how we wanted it for Dad. Special thanks to Chris, Richard and Wayne, for everything they did for us and Dad. We have used Osbornes many times and will continue to do so in the future. Kind regards,

Chris
